About hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy can be a “stand alone” therapy or can be used in conjunction with other counselling methods.

Hypnotherapy uses the sub-conscious mind to harness your own ability to overcome problems or issues and to “re-programme” whatever is troubling you. 

Please don’t have visions of Paul McKenna or Derren Brown.  Hypnotherapy is nothing like that - It really isn't scary at all!

Hypnosis is a completely safe and relaxing Testimonialprocess and is a state of complete mental and physical relaxation where the conscious mind can drift off and the unconscious mind is open and receptive to suggestions.  You are fully absorbed and attentive to such a degree that the outside world becomes unimportant. The client always remains in full control and able to come out of hypnosis whenever they choose. In the hands of trained and skilled hypnotherapists many issues can be resolved which may take much longer with counselling alone. You do not have to be a particularly good "hypnotic subject" either, as long as you have the motivation and are open-minded.

Quitting smoking

Hypnosis is one of the most successful ways to stop smoking.

We all know the dangers, risks and anti-social aspects of smoking and one assumes that, if you are reading this, you are coming to a stage in your life that means that you are, at least, considering, giving up the weed.

If you really have made up your mind that you want to quit, then read on – ifTestimonial you are not sure yet, then hypnotherapy will not work for you.  It is not a magic spell that will make you want to stop smoking of you still really want to but it IS extremely successful if you are fully motivated in wanting to become a non-smoker.

I used to smoke myself so I fully appreciate what is involved in quitting and how it feels.  Some people may require only one session to stop smoking.  This is a specially extended session including an in-depth discussion beforehand so that everything is tailor-made for you.  There is an individual price for this.  Some people may require 2 or 3 shorter sessions.  Everyone is different and this is always taken into consideration.

Weight Issues

Hypnosis can help you to re-programme your thoughts and beliefs about yourself, your health and your food to help you to take control of your diet and lifestyle and lose weight permanently.

How many times have you followed a diet and lost weight only for those extra pounds to come creeping back, slowly and surely at a later date? This is because weight loss can never be permanent when you restrict your food intake without considering WHY you were over-eating in the first place.  It is only through permanent changes in the sub-conscious that you will experience the permanent changes in yourself.  Changes that will come automatically and without the torture of a “diet plan”!  Hypnosis can implement these changes and I will teach you self-hypnosis so that you can continually reinforce them until you don’t need to any more.

Anxiety and Stress

We all, at some point, have had to deal with anxiety or stress, but when it starts to affect the quality of our lives and how we go about our daily business, then something needs to be done about it. 

Hypnosis can help you to deal very effectively with these debilitating feelings

People have different stress stimuli and the first step is to identify these.  Under hypnosis it is possible to re-programme these responses so that they no longer become a problem. 

The same can be said for phobias or panic attacks.  I will discuss with you in detail the way you feel in certain situations and explore the history of your issues. 

Again, everyone is different so each session is tailor-made for each client’s needs.

Hypnotherapy is also a very effective tool in re-programming unwanted habits such as nail biting for example, for helping you to cope with pain and dental fears and for curing insomnia.

It is also very effective for confidence and in self-esteem related issues and many more concerns too numerous to list.  What I can’t do, however, is cure any medical condition. 

We are not doctors or magicians.  What I can do is help you to move forward in a far happier frame of mind, whether it be acceptance or resolution, I will work with you, every step of the way.
